June membership meeting will be Wednesday, June 6th. Reminder out meeting start time is 6:30 PM.
June 10th is our annually held de-spook clinic at the Events Center area at Jeffco Fairgrounds.
We are having two “Meet-Up” rides this month. As planned these rides will be happening the 2nd Thursday and 4th Monday of each month.
For June the 2nd Thursday ride will be at north Table Mountain Park in Golden. This park has good trailer parking and the trail offers great views of both the mountains and the front range of Denver and its suburbs. The trail offers prairie to explore on top of the mesa, with a variety of birds and wildflowers.
June 25th the 4th Monday ride will be at Stauton State Park just west of Conifer.
Breakfast Ride – Sunday, May 20th
We have had interest in members getting together for a breakfast ride. To accommodate those who want to get out early for ride a breakfast, we have scheduled one for Sunday, May 20th. We will ride through Bear Creek Lake Park in Morrison, and head east out of the park to the adjacent Homestead Golf Course – that happens to have hitching rails and a very nice restaurant for breakfast/brunch. (Be sure and bring your halter/lead ropes to tie your horses at the hitching rails the golf course has provided.)
Ride out location will be from the dead-end cul-de-sac, that is on the west side of the first Simms St. traffic circle, on the south side of US Hwy 285. This area provides free parking and easy access to the park, so you do not have to pay the park entrance fee. Please rsvp through our website comment form, so we know how many are coming. We don’t want to leave without you. Be ready to ride at 9:00 AM.
At our May meeting we scheduled several “during the week” trail rides for our members that are available for weekday riding and want to meet up at some of our local parks. Our first one will be this Tuesday, May 22, 2018.
This park has a small parking area, so we are planning to arrive early and be ready to ride by 9:30 AM.
This park only has a 5 mile trail, but it has a parallel bridle path with over 50 jumps along the route. It has a nice picnic spot halfway out, with tie rails for the horses.

Lakewood Riding Club has participated in the Denver St. Patrick’s Day Parade for many years, and 2018 is no exception!
This is a huge parade, one of the top three in the nation, and draws a crowd in the ten’s of thousands. Here are some pictures from one of our past parade entries.
Our March meeting will be focusing on Colorado’s Brand laws and how they can impact your warm weather travel and riding plans.
